Thanksgiving Blessings

"In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." ~I Thessalonians 5:18~      Thanksgiving is a special holiday that we Americans celebrate on the last Thursday of November.  I absolutely love Thanksgiving!  I love fall and how the leaves are changing colors, and our harvest has been harvested.  I love spending time with my family gathered around a table eating the delicious food God has allowed us to prepare as a family.        Even though Thanksgiving is only once a year, it can be every day.  Thanksgiving is the day when we count our blessings and thank God for them.  This morning I woke up having this thought.  Every day is Thanksgiving because I have so much to be thankful for.   Family      I am so thankful for my family and I have no idea what I would do if I did not have them.  They mean the world to me!  Lately, I have been getting very close to them.  My sister and I have been getting along better sharing

Never Ashamed

Do you ever worry what people think of you? When you learn about Jesus Christ, do you tell others? Do you hide your salvation? Are you ashamed of Jesus Christ?  Most Christians hide their salvation and faith because of what the world thinks. Jesus Christ is just a speck of dust to the world. Many Christians believe no one will take them seriously because of their love and passion for Christ. They recognize the risk of losing their popularity, a person they're dating, their friends, and family.       I use to be this way after I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I use to hide my salvation and my faith. I was saved the summer before I started seventh grade.  I was so open about my faith and planned on sharing the gospel with the world. However, one of my friends did not like the way I was acting. I began to be a light to many people and some of my other friends, but it was not enough for another friend. I failed to be a witness to her by giving up. I was scared

The Power of Prayer

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you ~Matthew 5:44~ Do you ever pray?  Do you ever get on your knees and beg for God's power?  Do you even know what prayer is?   According to Webster's Dictionary, the definition is  a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship. You may say, "What is the purpose of prayer?  Why do we waste our time praying to some God, we don't even see and we know there's no hope?"     I used to ask that question a lot!  I would always pray when someone told me too. I took it as a chore that my parents told me to do every night before I go to bed.  I continued this routine until I was fourteen.  I accepted Jesus into my heart as my Lord and Savior when I was twelve.  I was so young that I did not realize I was supposed to grow in the Lord after I got save

About Me

Hello beautiful people! I'm so glad you stumbled upon my blog. I have always been a writer but decided to put my writings out for the public. However, I am very nervous, and this is my first post. I'd love you welcome to my new blog called The Kayla Journal.   My name is Mikayla and I am a southern, country girl just trying to figure my life out. What I love most in my life is Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.  What I plan on doing on this blog is sharing the word of God while trying to be a light and encourager. I will try my best to upload a new blog as much as I can Lord willing. I am so excited right now to share the word and dig deep into it with you guys!      Another thing about me is I am a musician. I play the clarinet, guitar, ukulele, and piano while trying to learn the violin. I love the violin so much, but it is the hardest instrument I have ever played! I go to a music ministry school in the summer and it is the absolute best. If it is the Lord
